Do you offer products in your webshop that customers can buy in multiple colours? Then our new 'Colours' app is a perfect addition to your online shop when you also use the 'Product filters' and/or 'Product variants' apps. The 'Colours' app gives you the possibility to show the colours of a product by means of colour balls. If you have linked various colours to products within the 'Colours' app settings, you can then create the 'Colour' filter in the 'Product filters' app. Visitors can then filter the products in your webshop on the basis of colour by selecting the desired colour balls. This enables them to find the product in the colour they are looking for sooner and to benefit from even more user-friendliness in your webshop.
Installing the app:
You first need to install the Colour app in the App Store. This can be found in the maintenance tool at: 'Start > App Store' under the category 'Supports'.
Colour management
In the colour management of the "Colours" app, you simply create (freely selectable) colours via the extensive colour palette that you link to a product in the product management. You can find the colour app via Start > My Products > Colour Management.
In the colour management you will first receive a set of basic colours. Are you, for example, a new webshop owner? Then you don't have to create all kinds of colours yourself first. By clicking on add you can create a new colour yourself. You can also give this colour a name and it will be used in the tooltip of the colour ball on your webshop. You can also drag and drop the colours within the colour management so that you can adjust the positioning. This positioning will return to places in the maintenance tool where these colours are displayed, such as the Product management.
Adjusting the colours of a product.
As soon as you have created the colours as you wish in the colour management, you can set the colours for a product. This can be done via Start > My Products > Manage Products. Change a product here, and then scroll down under the tab 'General', here you will find the option 'Colour'. Here you will find the positioned colours of the colour management.
Import colours
You can also import colours via a CSV file. This is possible by adding HEX codes to the CSV file. A HEX code is also called "colour code" and looks like this, for example: #77a345
If there is no colour for that specific hex code, this colour will be created without a name. Want to know more about importing a CSV file? Click here.
As indicated above, the Colour app is more of a supported app for other apps, such as the Product variants and Product filters app. Below, we will briefly explain how you should use the app in combination with other apps:
Colours in combination with Product variants
You can set 'Colour' as a product variant, so that a visitor on the product page can easily switch from, for example, the black variant of the product to the red variant of the product by clicking on the corresponding colour ball. This is a setting that you can tick via: Starting point > My Webshop > Settings > Layout > Product variants > Use colour in product variant view. If no colour has been set for a product, the relevant product photo will still be displayed. We recommend that you ensure that all variants of a product have a colour so that the display is beautiful and uniform. This will then look like this:

Colours in combination with Product filters
Visitors can filter the products in your webshop on the basis of colour by selecting the desired colour balls. This enables them to find the product in the colour they are looking for sooner and to benefit from even more user-friendliness in your webshop. You can create a new filter called "Colours" in the Product Filter settings via Start > My Webshop > Settings > Layout > Product Filters. This filter type is always an automated list and will then automatically display all the colours of the products available in the category. For example, a customer in your webshop can indicate that they would like to see all red shoes in the ladies category, as shown below:
