CCV Shop offers you a possibility to enable your customers to create one or more wishlists within your webshop. Customers can place products on the wishlists with a view to purchasing them later. The customer can also receive notifications when the product goes on special offer or is in stock again. The wishlist can be shared by means of a public link.
Below you will find an overview of the steps to be taken in order to make optimal use of this functionality.
- 1 Activating the 'Wishlist' app
- 2 Settings
- 3 Texts
- 4 ProTOM
- 5 Placing a product on a wishlist
- 6 Sharing
- 7 Notifications
Activating the 'Wishlist' app
The 'Wishlist' app can be found in the App Store in the 'Support' category. You can activate it free of charge. To work, this app requires the 'Login system' app. If you wish to use the 'Wishlist' app, you must also have installed the 'Login system' app.
Settings
After you have activated the 'Wishlist' app, a new settings category will be added. This new category contains the settings that concern the wishlist. The settings can be found under: “Starting point > My Webshop > Settings > General > Wishlist”.
Activating/deactivating wishlist
This is a general setting that switches the app functionality on and off.
Icon and/or text
This setting allows you to change the 'button' of the wishlist. You can choose to display on the product page only an icon, only a text or both.
Text
A standard text is available for use with this functionality. You will find the text under: "Starting point > My Webshop > Settings > General > Texts > Wishlist notification e-mail”. You can modify the text here.
This text will be used in the e-mail sent to customers when a product is in stock again or when it is on special offer, or when there is an update of a product the customer has on the wishlist.
ProTOM
If you have a ProTOM theme, the Wishlist button will not be displayed as default. You will need to take some action. In the ProTOM editor, there is a code fragment called 'Wishlist'. This is a piece of code that makes the button visible. You can modify it according to your own wishes.
Placing a product on the wishlist
After you have installed the app and activated the functionality, the customer will be able to place products on a wishlist. A small icon will be placed alongside the order button (depending on the settings). After clicking the icon, the customer will be able to select an existing wishlist or create a new one.
A customer who selects 'New wishlist' will be able to give the new wishlist a name of his/her choice. The product plus any selected attributes will then be added to this wishlist.
Under account management, the customer will find an overview of all his/her wishlists, showing the products.
Sharing
The customer can share a wishlist by pressing the following button:
After clicking the button, a screen will be displayed where the customer can add a personal text and the e-mail addresses to which he/she wishes to send the public link. {Wishlist} will be replaced by a public link that leads to the customer’s wishlist.
Notifications
The customer has a possibility to receive an e-mail when a product is in stock again and/or if a product on his/her wishlist is on special offer. The text of the e-mail is editable under the Texts setting. (See above)
To receive wishlist notifications, the customer must click the bell icon on his/her wishlist. This allows the customer to choose when he/she wishes to receive a notification.
When will notifications be sent?
If you give a discount on a product, or if you have a product in stock again, this information will first be saved. There will purposely be a short delay in sending out these updates in notification e-mails in order to allow rectification of any errors (look upon it as a kind of cooling-down period).
There is continuous monitoring to see whether an e-mail with updates must be sent to your customers. It is more convenient for a customer to receive a single personalised e-mail containing updates about multiple products than to receive multiple e-mails containing updates about only one product. For that reason, an e‑mail will only be sent to the customer on expiry of all 'cooling-down periods' of products that you have edited and after you have completed work on your webshop.
