1. Introduction
CCV Shop has realised two different links with PostNL, namely the PostNL Checkout and the PostNL Shipping Service. We will briefly explain these two below and then explain in the manual how to use PostNL in your webshop.
PostNL Shipping Service:
PostNL has a labelling solution for webshop owners who want to organise their shipping process more easily and cheaply. The main advantages of shipping with PostNL are advantageous rates, excellent service and reliable delivery. The link developed by CCV Shop makes it easy to register your shipments with PostNL at the touch of a button in the maintenance tool. You can then immediately print out a shipping label. The Track & Trace code is also automatically added to an order so that you and the consumer can keep track of the status of the shipment.
PostNL Checkout:
The PostNL Checkout allows you to offer delivery options in the checkout of your webshop. The advantage of offering the PostNL Checkout is that a consumer can choose where and when the order will be delivered. Offering delivery options then increases the conversion rate of your webshop. Other advantages of the PostNL Checkout are:
- Loyal and satisfied customers
- Choice of delivery to one of over 3000 PostNL points.
- PostNL is a recognisable and reliable party
- Choice of different delivery days and with time periods

2.4. Other settings
2.4.1. Shipping methods
PostNL has several shipping methods for sending your parcels. The available shipping methods are: Standard delivery, Evening delivery, Extra early delivery, Sunday delivery, Monday delivery and Same day delivery. The desired shipping option can be selected per shipping method.
Insured shipping
With the insured shipping option, the contents of the parcel are insured up to a maximum of 5,000 euros in the event of damage or loss.
Return in case of no hearing
With this shipping option, orders are returned when the recipient is not at home.
Signature for receipt
To make sure that the order is received by the right person, the shipping option signature for receipt can be activated.
Home address only
In order to prevent delivery to the neighbours, the shipping option can only be set to a home address.
Document format:
The customer can choose to print the shipping labels on standard format (A6) or A4 format. On the A4 format four labels can be printed at the same time.
2.4.2.Pre-registration with PostNL when completing the order process
2.5. Pre-announce the shipment and create the shipping label
There are two ways to send an order to PostNL and print a shipping label. This can be done for an individual order and by means of group actions.
2.5.1 Sending an order with an individual order
All orders received in your webshop can be found in the order management system: Starting point > My Orders > Order management. When you open an order in the order manager, you will see a new window with all the information about this order. If you go to the 'Links' tab, you will see a heading 'Export order to PostNL'. Here you can tick which shipping method you want to use and in which format the shipping label should be printed.
You can then click on the button 'Sign in to order and download label'. A pop-up will appear to confirm whether you want to print the label.
2.5.2. Send order by group actions
If you want to send multiple orders to PostNL and/or print multiple shipping labels at the same time, you can use a group action in the order management. In the order management you can select one or more orders. At the top of the pull-down menu, choose 'Select group action' and the option 'PostNL labels'. All selected orders are then automatically logged in to PostNL and a shipping label is created for each order, which you can then download.
2.5.3. Overview shipments
In the order management section you can see for each order whether it has been sent to PostNL. The icon of the grey truck indicates that the order has been successfully sent to PostNL. Even with an individual order, under the tab 'links', the history of the actions taken to PostNL is kept.
Please note! CCV Shop is not liable for incorrect settings/shipments. Always check before sending the parcel whether the correct label has been printed.
3. Install PostNL Check out
To be able to use the PostNL checkout you first need to install the 'Post NL Checkout' app in the App store of CCV Shop. You can find it via Starting > App Store > Shipments.
3.1. Register with PostNL:
Not a customer of PostNL yet? To create a PostNL account you can contact PostNL via the following link:
https://www.postnl.nl/zakelijke-oplossingen/webwinkels/bezorgopties-voor-uw-webwinkel/
Please indicate that you wish to send parcels with PostNL via CCV Shop.
3.2. CCV Shop settings
The settings of the checkout can be configured via: Starting point > My Webshop > Settings > Order process & Stock > PostNL Checkout'.
3.3. PostNL Checkout enabled
The setting allows you to enable or disable the entire PostNL Checkout. Ordered orders remain unchanged.
3.4. Checkout username
No longer applicable.
3.5. Checkout username
No longer applicable.
3.6. Checkout password
No longer applicable.
3.7. Checkout Webshop ID
Not applicable.
3.8. Processing time
The processing time is the number of days needed to physically deliver the orders to PostNL. The processing time applies to products that are in stock. The options at this setting are:
- Same day
- One day
- Two days
Example:
For a certain product you need time to prepare the product for shipment. For example, do you sell t-shirts that people can have printed? Then you need more processing time.
3.9. Stock setting
This setting can be used to determine what should happen if a product is not in stock. There are three options for this setting:
- Always show checkout regardless of product stock
Regardless of whether the ordered products are in stock or not, the Checkout button is always displayed. - Enable when all products are in stock
When one of the ordered products is out of stock, the Checkout button will be hidden. The possible delivery time or the number of products ordered will have no effect on this. - Maintain delivery time of products
Example: If you set a product that has no stock, and for example a delivery time of 3 days, then this will also be shown in the check out. Do you have multiple products in your shopping cart with multiple delivery times? Then the longest delivery time is valid.
Please note! Stock management must be enabled for the stock setting.
3.10. Send 'sent' confirmation
If an order receives the status sent, a confirmation of this status will be sent to PostNL by activating this functionality. As a result, the package will be confirmed in the consumer's MyPackage.
3.11. Send 'cancelled' confirmation
If the status of an order is cancelled, a confirmation of this status will be sent to PostNL by activating this functionality. As a result, the package will be confirmed in the consumer's MyPackage.

3.15. Regular delivery

3.16. Evening delivery

3.17. Same day delivery
Please note! This setting must be used in combination with evening delivery.
3.18. Sunday delivery
By activating these settings, orders ordered on Saturday can be delivered before the cutoff time on Sunday.
3.19. Monday delivery
By activating this setting, orders can also be delivered on Mondays.
3.20. Other settings
3.20.1. Surcharge
For deliveries other than regular deliveries, a surcharge may be charged to the consumer. Fill in this surcharge in the delivery options in the 'surcharge' field.
3.20.2. Cut off times
After this time on the day of ordering, the parcels can no longer be delivered to PostNL by the merchant. If the merchant receives an order at 16:00 and the cut off time is at 17:00, he/she can process and deliver the package today. If the customer receives an order at 18:00 it cannot be delivered today and will be available the day after tomorrow as the first day of delivery. The 'processing time' is always added to the next delivery day.
3.21. PostNL Checkout activated
If you have activated PostNL Checkout, you will see the button for PostNL Checkout appear in your delivery options. As soon as your customer has entered his address, you will see the option to choose times and locations.
3.22. Exceptions
PostNL Checkout will not be offered to consumers as an option in a number of situations. CCV Shop has ensured that in those cases the PostNL Checkout option will not be shown. Your customers can order these products via other delivery options.
Situations in which the PostNL Checkout button is not shown:
- Digital products that can be downloaded.
- Products that are heavier than the maximum weight (31.5kg).
Fill in the weights under 'My products > Manage products > Select product > Tab 'General' and then 'Weight'. - For orders with the following payment methods:
- Pick up, payment upon receipt (for pick up at your shop)
- Cash on delivery (no longer available)
- PayPal Express Checkout
- Pay afterwards (Klarna, Sisow ecare or Buckaroo Pay afterwards) - For shipping options:
These can be found under 'My webshop > Settings > Shipping costs & Logistics > Extra shipping options'. In a shipping option where the setting 'GV - No shipping costs' or 'BbO - Payment on receipt' is active, the button will be hidden. - At the login system:
If the login system is set to 'On without registration' and the visitor is not logged in. NB: PostNL Checkout is offered in the options 'On with registration' and 'On with automatic registration'. CCV Shop will then automatically create a user if this user cannot be found. Of course, the button is also shown when the login system is switched off.
3.23. Checkout CCV Shop
Within CCV shop three types of checkout are available. The Checkout type can be selected via 'Settings > Order process & Stock > Order process settings'. The possibilities are described below.
3.23.1. One Page Checkout
The One Page Checkout consists of several steps. In the first step, the consumer fills in the contact and address details. In step two the available delivery options for this address are shown. The consumer can choose the desired delivery option.
3.23.2. One Step Checkout
In the One Step Checkout the steps of the checkout are shown in overview and the consumer does not have to click manually to the next step. As soon as the address has been entered, the next PostNL delivery moment will appear under 'Delivery options'.
Delivery times and pick-up points
By clicking on 'Delivery times and pick-up points' the other delivery options are shown.
Choose another pick-up point
Within 'Delivery times and pick-up points' it is possible to select one of the more than 3000 other PostNL points. By clicking on 'choose another pick-up point', consumers can choose one of these PostNL points by searching by postcode or address.
3.24. Processing an order in order management
After the order has been placed by your customer, you will find it in your order overview at CCV Shop, under Starting point > My Orders > Order management. Orders placed via PostNL Checkout are listed with the PostNL icon.
See section 2.5. 'Pre-registering the shipment and creating the shipping label' for more information about order management.
3.24.1. Delivery at a PostNL point
Via PostNL Checkout your customers can have their order delivered to a post office where they can pick it up themselves. If the consumer has chosen to pick up the order at a PostNL point, this can be seen under 'Order management > Open order > Customer details > PostNL Checkout'.
3.24.2. Changing data
It is possible to change the details of an order, e.g. as a result of contact with your consumer. Contrary to status changes, changes in the order details are not passed on to PostNL and are therefore not visible in MyPackage.
