The Ivy theme allows you to choose between three so-called ‘presets’, i.e. overarching designs for the homepage. The presets differ in how they present the USPs, and the homepage headers differ with regard to the number of blocks and the design. For instance, you can choose to display the menu at the top or on the side of the page. Depending on the preset that you select, the menu is directly visible on the page or included as a drop-down menu. You can also choose whether you want to display the logo at the top of the page, or perhaps on the left. And what about the search bar: also at the top, or somewhere else? The locations where certification marks and social media icons are displayed also differ between the various presets.
Products and categories
Below the above-mentioned elements, you will find the modular section of the page which you can design yourself. The Ivy theme has two options for the product categories: you can display either two or four categories next to each other. If you choose to display two categories next to each other, you will automatically get extra wide images that will be cropped.
The theme offers a large number of variants at the product level, since you can choose between four different views. Two of these are block views, each with a different call to action. In the first block view, the call to action is displayed as an order button, while a shopping cart icon is used in the second block view. The other two options are list views. Here you can also choose between different calls to action.
In addition, you can choose if you want to display such elements as product reviews, inventory status, maximum quantities to be ordered by customers, delivery times or thumbnails. Products that are on sale can be flagged with a so-called ‘sales sticker’ in the form of a label, circle, star, ribbon or flag.
All these properties to be displayed are listed on the overview page, so that customers do not have to click on products to view these properties. You also have the option of displaying short product descriptions. If you activate this feature, the description becomes visible when customers hover over the product image with their mouse.
Integrated Google Maps
Google Maps is integrated in the Ivy theme. If you choose to activate Google Maps, a map will automatically appear next to the contact details of your webshop. In this way, customers can quickly see where your company is located and can immediately plan their route. The integrated Google Maps feature offers a choice between various colour themes, such as Standard, Silver, Retro, Night and Aubergine. This allows you to choose the colour that is most appropriate for your webshop. The Ivy theme also offers the option of selecting a so‑called ‘pin’ to indicate the physical location of your webshop on the map. Next to the map you will find an HTML field where you can include additional contact details if required, entirely according to your own preferences.
Displaying blog posts
Blogging is an effective and increasingly popular way to display your expertise and convey your passion. In other words, it allows you to demonstrate to your readers/visitors why you stand out in your market segment. The blog feature of the Ivy theme offers three different display options. You can choose to present three or six blog posts next to each other, or to highlight one post and display three others next to it. If you choose to use this blog feature, the photo you posted to accompany the blog post will be displayed, as well as the post’s title and the first few sentences. The blog posts displayed are of course clickable, so that customers can be redirected to the full text.
Have you installed the KiyOh app in the CCV Shop App Store? If you have and if you have also entered your details, you can opt to display the KiyOh reviews so that customers can see how your shop is evaluated. Because positive reviews convey reliability, they can help to convince customers to order products from your webshop.
The Ivy theme allows you to display up to six payment options on the homepage. For each preset, the payment methods are displayed in different locations: either next to the KiyOh reviews and in the footer, or below the slider and in the footer, or next to the slider and in the footer. If you offer more than six payment methods, you can choose to display the six most popular payment methods.
The Ivy theme allows you to upload up to three different slider images. You can also opt to include a title, subtitle and/or URL. Suppose you choose to upload three images. You will then see miniatures of these images in the slider, and the image will be replaced with the next one when you hover over it with your mouse. The slider is also swipeable, i.e. you can move it yourself.
The Ivy theme offers a wide range of fonts so you can choose the one that is most appropriate for your webshop.
The theme provides the option of placing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) text at the bottom of the page. Of course, you can also do this in the modular section of the page, but the Ivy theme also allows you to place the text at the bottom of the page.
Of course you want to clearly present your USPs in your webshop. The theme offers various options: you can display your USPs in the header and above the footer, below the slider and in the footer, or just next to the slider. You can pick the option that presents your USPs to the best advantage.
Like the Mila theme, the Ivy theme allows you to design the top four columns of the footer. You can activate various widgets such as Twitter or Facebook widgets, a text field, HTML blocks, your webshop pages, or the categories in your webshop. You can also choose to display the categories below these top four columns, which has a positive effect on your webshop’s search engine rankings.
If you are affiliated with one or more certification organizations, you can upload the logos of these organizations in the maintenance tool to convey greater reliability. The locations of these certification marks differ for each preset. They can be displayed in the footer, at the top of the header, or in the header and the footer.
Log-in feature / shopping cart
The Ivy theme has a clearly noticeable log-in section in the page header that enables existing customers to log in easily. A small shopping cart icon is displayed and when customers hover over it with their mouse, a window is displayed providing an overview of the contents of the shopping cart, including the total price and a button for immediate ordering.
