Digital products

With this app you can offer digital products in your webshop. Think of downloads of .pdf, music, video, photo or application files. Do you want to offer e-books or do you sell codes for computer games, e-tickets or other digital products? Then download this free app in the CCV Shop App Store.

You can easily sell digital products through CCV Shop. Below the steps are briefly described. They are explained in detail below.

Install digital products app

The app 'Digital products' is a free app that you can use to sell digital products in your web store.

Install the app
Login in the maintenance of your webshop. Then click on "App Store". In the category "Support" you can find the app "Digital products". Activate this app to make digital products available in your webshop.

Digital products' settings
After installing the "Digital products" app you can find the settings via "Starting point > My Webshop > Settings > General > Digital products" (figure 1).

Type of product that is added by default
This setting has to do with the standard product (physical, digital or extended) that is created when you click on "add product" in the product management.

Send reminders mail
This setting is for sending a reminder mail. How many days before the file is deleted do you want to send a reminder email to the customer? The customer receives an e-mail that they have a limited time to download the files.

Order confirmation digital product
When digital products are purchased, an extra e-mail is sent with a link where they can download the products or obtain the codes. Write here the text you want in the mail.

Validity of a digital product
Downloadable products have a validity period. Here you can choose the default period of validity with a minimum of one day and a maximum of 2 years. This setting can also be adjusted at product level.

Create a digital product
When you go to the product management you can choose what kind of product you want to make. Here you can choose from:

• A physical product: the product that you physically have and sell, for example a CD.
• A digital product: a digital product think of a code or an e-book.
• Or an extended product: this is a combination of physical and digital products, for example a CD with a code (figure 2).

Add digital product
Adding a digital product is just like creating a physical product. There is a new tab for the digital products in product management (figure 3).

First choose the type of product to choose whether you want to sell a downloadable product or a product with codes or a combination of download with codes.

Files
The following file extensions are possible for the files:
.txt.doc .docx .pdf .xls .xlsx .jpg .jpeg .gif .png .dst .zip.

Codes
If you sell a product with codes, it is possible to add it by pressing enter or using a ",".

Please note! The stock is leading in how many codes may be sold.

If more codes are sold than you have in stock, an empty code will be added with the status "Forgiven". If you enter new codes, the assigned codes will be entered first. When you click on 'save', these codes will go to the customers where the code is sold.

If you have already sold a code, you can do so by clicking on the options in the code and then clicking on "Status sold".

Options
Here you can set per product the validity period of the downloadable items and how often these items can be downloaded.

Please note! If you set the product to be valid for 2 years, the space (mb) that this product occupies will be reserved until the validity period has expired.

VAT
The digital product receives the VAT from the country of the webshop.

My account
The 'My account' page has also been modified so that the customer has insight into the downloadable products and the codes in addition to the order history. 

An extra e-mail is also sent with a "Claim page" where the customer can obtain his purchased digital products.

Dashboard widget

There is a maximum limit per webshop for digital products. To give you insight into how much space you have in use, a widget called data traffic has been created for the dashboard (figure 4).

Storage space per package

Previously, the storage space for the 'Digital Products' app was the same for each package type: 100 MB. From now on the following storage space applies to the different package types:
Enterprise: 5GB
Package L: 1GB
Package M: 250MB
Package S: 100MB

Regulation

The following items may not be offered via digital products, should CCV Shop note that digital products are used by a web store for this, fraud prevention can lead to a direct blockage of the web store.
